Something only becomes artificial once we realize it's artificiality. We often don't undestand that what we assume as real and actual is only our own perception, Is artificality more real than what is "real?" When something has become hyper-real, is too real?--and/ or can it have the tendency to not feel real at all? Turrell explores the boundaries of what is real through his installations. Is this a white box with a projection of a sky or is that really the sky we're looking at through a cut out in a white room.
