It's seems difficult to follow the exact evolution and the moments that led to the rise and fall of a pop star like Britney Spears. Aside from the social lack of refinement she displays in the beginning of the following home movie, Spears poses in an interesting point in her marijuana induced state--has she been missing out on life? Immediately the questions that follow are whose life, what life, etc. Also how could someone who is the source of so much tabloid speculation--feel that they are missing out on life?

Spear attempts to put into words her own emotional reality, while her husband responds in a concrete manner--literally explaining to her were she physically was when asked "where have I been?" There appears to be two separate conversations occurring between them. The flexibility of the relationship partners' unconsicous dialogues is important--individual partners' ability to allow for otherness, to see the other's reality is critical

What can be agreed upon consciously and unconsciously is that "you'll never see it my way. Because you're not me." (www.britneyspears.com).

Direct dialogue from Spear's and Federline's home video:

"Where have I been?"

"Over here" (laughs) "you've been on tour."

"I'm confused because . . . I feel like I've been missing out."

"Missing out on what?"

"on life."

"I really don't think that that's the truth."

I'm, you think I'm this is what I have to talk about."

"Okay."

"I feel like I've been missing out on life."

"Like what part of life."

"LIFE like things, and things goin on. Like I feel like I'm behind or something. I know that sounds so weird--

"no it doesn't"

"but I do."

"it's all the partying."

"Huh?" (slaps the table).
